When it comes to homes in Colorado’s high country, access to ski runs and the mountainside is often at the top of homebuyers’ wishlists. Convenience accessing the mountainside isn’t the only draw, according to Leeds, who noted that it can be challenging to find real estate close to both Aspen’s lifts and the vibrant downtown area. There’s also the issue of finding parking in the resort community, particularly during the ski season when visitors flood the slopes.
“Finding parking in the core is so hard,” said Leeds. “To be able to be at your house and walk to either this new lift or the [Silver Queen] Gondola, which is right in Aspen proper, it’s very coveted. It’s not a dime-a-dozen property.”

To put that into perspective, Leeds said the house is about a 10-minute walk to the gondola and a 5-minute walk from the Lift One project located at the base of Aspen Mountain’s west side. The project, which voters approved in 2019, includes the development of 320,000 square feet of commercial space as well as replacing the existing double chairlift with a new telemix lift.
